Description/Job Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall repair, preventative maintenance, and factory maintenance within the site facilities. The maintenance technician will be responsible for aspects related to mechanical operations. Support prompt repair, preventative maintenance schedules, housekeeping and organizational standards. Update the respective departments regarding the status of all operating equipment. Work with vendors, riggers, millwrights etc. on proper installation of equipment.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Safety First is “Safety Always.” Safe Work Practices and Procedures are priority one.

  • Carry out the Preventative Maintenance program for equipment, per guidelines.
  • Servicing equipment to include: cold heading, heat treatment furnaces, plating line, high speed sorting equipment, collation, conveyors and motors.
  • Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Follow approved Lock out/Tag out (LOTO) procedures.
  • Follow approved reduction of stored energy guidelines.
  • Provide input and help carry out continuous improvement projects.
  • Electrically and/or mechanically troubleshoot issues as they occur.
  • Operate a fork-truck, man-lift, shop fabricating equipment, power hand tools, etc.
  • Other related duties as required.
  • Must have shift flexibility/ability to work weekends.
  • Provide input and help carry out continuous improvement projects.

Required Skills

  • Industry understanding in, cold heading, pneumatics, hydraulics, servo motors preferred
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Experience with proactive maintenance systems
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years industrial/manufacturing environment experience
  • Ability to read and understand electrical prints
  • Troubleshoot electrical control circuits
  • Install new or upgrade existing systems and equipment
  • Documentation of electrical circuit changes
  • Working knowledge of PLC automated equipment
  • Follow electrical standards
  • Candidate must have strong electrical experience and knowledge
  • Ability to train/coach junior apprentice(s) on the proper methods of equipment repair and maintenance
  • Computer skills to include (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds periodically
  • Must be able to climb ladders/stairs and work in high places

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Related certifications preferred
  • Electrical certification is preferred
